Bruce Thompson, BSc, MBA

Principal and Consultant

Bruce Thompson has over 25 years of practical, hands-on experience in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and project management. An independent consultant since 2002, he founded Reguliance LLC which specializes in providing regulatory support and project management to small- and medium-size drug and biotech firms.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Mr. Thompson was the Managing Director of Chiesi Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the US subsidiary of Chiesi Farmaceutici, S.p.A.. During his tenure with Chiesi Pharmaceuticals, he directed US regulatory and R&D activities, and played a key role in product and business development.

Before joining Chiesi Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Mr. Thompson was Director, Regulatory Affairs for Armstrong Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Medeva PLC subsidiary, focusing on respiratory product development. In this capacity, he designed and managed the first successful pharmacodynamic bioequivalence study leading to approval of generic albuterol inhalation aerosol.

Mr. Thompson has extensive knowledge of development planning, including preclinical, clinical, chemistry, manufacturing, stability, and compliance. Focusing on the details while keeping a perspective on the broader picture has been a key to his success.

Mr. Thompson has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biochemistry and a minor in business administration from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. He earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.

Director of Operations

Susan Kelley joined Reguliance in 2010 as the Director of Operations. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.
